STORIES FROM A RECENT 3-month USA TRIP (shipped bike over from Australia)
Leaving Carson City and a terrific catch up and stay with Angeal and Dean and the Battle Born IMRG group, we made our way to Lake Tahoe. Famous for its stunning blue waters and massive footprint, Lake Tahoe is a popular tourist destination that straddles the state line between California and Nevada.
It was a big day and we rode thru some spectacular mountains and views for miles.
Arriving in Yosemite, it was busy and getting late, plus I was coming down with a bit of a flu of sorts. So was keener than usual to find the place to stay the night and relax.
We did a small part of Yosemite and then made our way to a cool little town called Groveland.
Groveland and the surrounding area, including Yosemite National Park, is a beautiful, historic region that played key roles in the California Gold Rush and in the history of Yosemite and even the city of San Francisco.
The Iron Door Saloon in Groveland, according to its proprietors, it is the oldest continuously operating saloon in California. It’s a very quaint and quirky town.
